"Sweet Mistakes" Ellis Paul (Shallow Hal Soundrack)

I was watching a movie called "Shallow Hal" when this song came on the movie soundtrack, "Sweet Mistakes" by Ellis Paul. It just felt good as soon as I heard the words and melody.

The story goes that there are two overweight losers that are always aiming for girls way out of their league
. One day the lead character, Hal, ran into the self help coach, Tony Robbins. Tony puts the whammy on him so that Hal can see the inner beauty of a woman instead of just how she looks.

Hal quickly falls for an overweight woman with a good heart named Rosie (Gwenneth Paltrow). Hal sees Rosie as a super-model while others are trying to explain that she's a whale of a catch. The movie is cute within the romantic comedy genre and does challenge superficiality.

The one scene that made me cry is that when dating Rosemary (Rosie) led Hal on a date which included a visit to the children's burn unit at the hospital. The children were delighted that Hal couldn't see their disfiguring burns. He gave special attention to a girl named Cadence and see smiled from ear to ear.

After the trance that Hal had been under wears off, he returns to the hospital looking for Rosie and Cadence, with shocking burn scars on her face trys to say hi to Hal, he doesn't recognize her. She looks hurt and says, "I'm Cadence". Hal now remembers and says: "Oh, of course I remember you." Then, he hugs her saving face...both his and her's.

Here are the lyrics to "Sweet Mistakes" by Ellis Paul:

Pop the cork, a champagne glass
Raise to the future, drink to the past
Thank the Lord for the friends he cast,
In the play he wrote for you.

And if you love the girl, man, light up a torch
Blaze a trail to her front porch
Kiss her till your lips are scorched
Till the rain comes down on you

Bless your sweet mistakes,
That crumbled you down to your knees.
That brought you to this place
Changing you by degrees
When change was just what you needed
What you needed

So if you live your life in a three piece suit,
In a cocktail dress, or combat boots
You pick your path, you walk your truth
And the world will come round to you.
It's a long ride, I can't tell you why
But there's a place in your pocket where peace can abide
You pull it out, it's a compass, a guide
And it will put a little soul on you.

And in this wild blue world
There is a soul weavin' fine feelin' girl
You've got to walk in paradise to find a pearl
If you only believe,
You'll get what you need
What you needed

Conquer your fear and you'll master the game,
Life is always and never the same.
Use a little faith to light the flame
And I know you'll connect to you.

Pop the cork, a champagne glass
Raise to the future, drink to the past
Thank the Lord for the friends he cast,
In the play he wrote for you.

Another charming song with instant attraction is a haunting song by Ivy called "The Edge of the Ocean".

.

"Edge Of The Ocean"

There's a place I dream about
Where the sun never goes out.
And the sky is deep and blue.
Won't you take me there with you.

Ohhh, we can begin again.
Shed our skin, let the sun shine in.
At the edge of the ocean
We can start over again.

There's a world I've always known
Somewhere far away from home.
When I close my eyes I see
All the space and mystery.

Ohhh, we can begin again.
Shed our skin, let the sun shine in.
At the edge of the ocean
We can start over again.

Brad Fallon Tribute to SEO

While living in Rio de Janeiro in 2006, I was frustrated that I couldn’t work as a foreigner in Brazil. I reasoned that if I could learn how to promote things on the Internet, then I could work from anywhere in the world in the American market as long as I could get an Internet connection. Imagining that even if I was old with one tooth and unable to walk, I could still make a living if I could simply lay in bed as an invalid with a laptop. I decided then and there that I would learn how to make a living online.

For the next couple of years, I burned through over $40,000 investing in online courses and live seminars struggling to crack the code on how to make a living on the net. Gurus lurked everywhere in wait for me to see their ads and lure me in to buy their over priced courses. Everything looked so shiny and I confess, I often took the bait. Over time I realized that most gurus where only good at selling their courses, Internet marketers were simply marketing to other Internet marketers. I gained a few general tips along the way, but most of the courses lacked real “how to” content or they made me feel I was jumping on a horse and riding in 50 directions at the same time.

Fresh air arrived when I came across some reviews about Brad Fallon, Stomping the Search Engines and SEO. Online marketers were raving about Brad and mentioned how much a course called “Stomping the Search Engines” about search engine optimization had made a difference for them. I finally found a place to order a copy of it for $300. Everyone’s review sounded like it was really old and out of print so I felt lucky I was able to still buy it.

When Brad Fallon’s course arrived, I found it to be an 8 hour audio interview with him going from the basics to more advanced methods on how to get your website to the top of the search engines for a particular keyword or keyword phrase. Brad even covered black hat techniques that some marketers tried in violation of the search engines terms of service. I found the course astounding. Brad spoke with such authority.

Since the Bose iPod Docking station came out years ago, I put one in my bathroom and listened to podcasts and educational courses every time I took a shower. When I purchased Brad’s course, it immediately became the only thing I listened to for a year and a half. I must have listened to that 8 hour audio course over 60 times. I listened to it in my car; I listened to it while jogging. To me, it opened a door that was worthy of my commitment.

I started experimenting with Brad Fallon’s techniques on some small time sites, sheepishly. I was so afraid that I’d make a mistake, so I’d build some links then sit back and wait hoping I wouldn’t be banned by the search engines. It was a slow agonizing process until I started to realize that the techniques were working. In fact, I found that by dedicating myself to the execution of his theories, I was getting websites to the top of the search engines at will. For the next few years, I dedicated myself more and more, going from local sites to helping multinational corporations and international broadcasting media companies get to the top of the search engines. I started devouring everything I could get my hands on in organic search until I lost all fear of SEO. I practiced my craft for a couple of years and during that time, I got everything to the top of Google that I desired. I always succeeded. It became child’s play. The Google algorithm was a joke to me, even though they claimed there were over 200 factors in their rankings. Whoop-tee-doo…I found that, like polititians, Google’s declarations about SEO were duplicitous.

Will Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Sachs Go to Prison for Perjury?

This came in an email from a friend:

Friends-

Breaking news — A Senate panel charged with investigating the financial crisis is laying blame right where it belongs: At the foot of the mega-banks that pushed shoddy financial products on consumers and then deceived Congress. Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein appears to have lied to Congress. It’s time for a criminal investigation — and the powerful senator who chaired the panel agrees.

Will you urge the Department of Justice to open up an investigation? Just click here:

According to the Huffington Post,

“Carl Levin, chair of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, will recommend that Goldman executives who testified before his panel, including chairman and chief executive Lloyd Blankfein, be referred to the Justice Department for possible criminal prosecution, the Michigan Democrat announced Wednesday.”

Investigators discovered that Goldman traders bragged about selling “shitty” deals to clients and the mega-bank bet against the same financial products it was selling to investors. And they’ve lied about it all the way to the bank.

Let’s join Senator Levin’s call for accountability. Will you urge the Department of Justice to investigate Blankfein? Just click here:

Corrupt Politiatians - This Will Make You Mad

House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr., R-Norwalk, pictured standing, far right, speaks while colleagues Rep. Barbara Lambert, D-Milford and Rep. Jack F. Hennessy, D-Bridgeport, play solitaire Monday night as the House convened to vote on a new budget. (AP)

The guy sitting in the row in front of these two....he's on Facebook, and the guy behind Hennessy is checking out the baseball scores.

These are the folks that couldn't get the budget out by Oct. 1, and are about to control your health care, cap and trade, and the list goes on and on….
Should we buy them larger screen computers - or - a ticket home, permanently?

This is one of their 3-DAY WORK WEEKS that we all pay for (salary is about $179,000 per year).

This is not my writing. This came in to me from a chain email, but I thought you should see it.
